The Elementary Education Department provides leadership and support to school sites in the core curricular areas of English language arts, mathematics, history social-science and science.  The department supports schools by promoting content standards, facilitating the selection of instructional materials, developing pacing charts, identifying benchmark assessments, providing professional development, and maintaining a standards-based report card for reporting pupil progress to parents.  Student achievement data drives the design of professional development.  Training and follow-up coaching is designed to help teachers, principals, and support staff  become highly qualified in the use of the adopted instructional programs and research-based skills and strategies that support achievement of all learners.
